Service Always Has Its Blessings.

Well, it is about time I use this thing, seeing as I have had it since April and have yet to. But, now I actually have a reason because...I am engaged! And we all know full well that when someone gets engaged these days, the blogging starts. And now I'm starting to understand why.

So this is the part that I have to go into detail about how we met and all that good stuff. So hold on to your hats because, it's a long one.

Well, it was April 19th and it was moving day. And like any other young college age person, I had put off packing until 3 or so hours until I had to move. That was smart. Anyhow, the last week had been pretty rough. One day I had food poisoning from Little Caesar’s, the next day I spent recovering, and then the day after that I got hives from eating 20 popsicles in one night. (I do not recommend that)...which brings us to the 19th and I had to move. So, I am rushing around trying to get everything together when I get a call from my new roommate’s home teacher and he says that he, along with some friends, is going to help me move. Then I really start rushing. After about an hour later they get there and I’m a mess. I mean bad, I’m frustrated, I haven’t showered yet, it’s like 4 in the afternoon, I still have boxes to pack and they were early. So I go to let them in and there are three guys. Chubbs, which was Ellen’s home teacher, Justin Crick, which was one of this friends and another friend, Ray, the kid with the truck.

So they help me move boxes and everything and I feel so bad because I am all sorts of messed up and they can tell. So we get in the truck and drive to the new apartments and then the lady tells us that we weren’t suppose to move in yet because they didn't know we were coming today. so we work things out, she was nice and gave me a key and everything and then we start moving stuff in. the whole time we didn’t talk other than say sorry or something if we were in each other’s way. Well we finally got done and I told them to come over anytime they wanted to use the gym or something and I thanked them and said sorry for the trouble.

Later that night Ray texted me to say that we left some stuff in his truck and we had a little bit of a conversations. Barely. Then the next day I ask if they can help us again because we had waaaay more stuff to move.

For some reason I was just anxious to see this kid after our simple conversation and I have no idea why. He just was not my type. (At the time obviously). So they come over and he helps us move again and it was better this time, I tried joking with them and all that good stuff...still trying to break the ice from the day before. I think it might have gone well. Ha ha.

Next thing I know he asks if I want to go country dancing. I was busy that night so I wasn’t really able to. Then the next 2 weeks he kept asking me to different things but I was always busy. But finally I was not and so I promised him we would hang out soon.

So the day rolls around and we are supposed to go country dancing, again. But, being the brat that I can be, I told him I didn’t want to do that. I had no idea he had meant it to be a date. I guess I don't pick up on hints. So he thought of something else to do and he picked me up and we went out. We went and ate Panda Express at the mall and people watched and then we went bowling with one of his mission buddies and his friends and Ray's cousin Jesse and her boyfriend. After that we went to his mission friend's house to watch a movie and then he took me home. As simple as that may be I was hooked as soon as we got in the truck to go to dinner.

So then we have basically been dating since then. Just this last weekend we were in Arizona, and he proposed to me on August 14. So, I suppose this next post will be on how he proposed and everything. :)
